The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation – Race for the Cure®

For a 3rd year, Beardsworth Consulting Group, Inc. is pleased to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Race for the Cure®.

“This year, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the Komen Race for the Cure®, the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks in the world. In 20 years, the Komen Race for the Cure® has grown from one local Race with 800 participants in Dallas, Texas, to a series of more than 100 Races with 1.5 million people expected to participate in 2003.

Proceeds from the Komen Race for the Cure® Series help fund important breast cancer research as well as breast health initiatives on a local level. Seventy-five percent of the proceeds remain in the local community where the Race is held, helping to support breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs for the medically underserved. These programs are funded based upon a special needs assessment survey performed by each Komen Affiliate. A minimum of 25 percent of Race proceeds helps fund breast cancer research and project grants awarded through Komen Foundation Headquarters.”
